How to fix the ‘cannot connect to App store’ error on Mac?

Many Mac users have complained that they are facing problems connecting to
the Mac App Store. Many of them started getting this error message after they
updated their Mac devices.

If your Mac cannot connect to the Apple App store and is not able to
download, install or update apps, then continue reading the article.

MAC CANNOT CONNECT TO THE APP STORE

1. First of all, make sure you are not having any network errors. See that
your Mac is connected to the internet. Try to reboot your Mac and
restart your router or modem.

2. Also, make sure that the Apple Mac store servers are not down for some
time. To check this, go to the System status website of Apple.

3. Open iTunes and click on Account and then sign out. Wait for a while
and then sign back in.

4. Open App Store and tap on Store and press Sign Out. Wait for a while
and then sign back in.

5. Disable the VPN or proxy network if you are using them to connect to
the internet.

6. If you using macOS Mojave, open system preferences and then go to
Software update and check for any updates. If you find an update, you
must update your Mac as soon as possible.

7. Ensure that the date and time settings are set properly. You can also set
them to automatic to avoid getting this error.

8. Try the following steps on your Mac:

  • Open Keychain Access and press ‘System Roots’.
  • Double click on ‘DigiCert High Assurance EV root CA’.

  • Now, press ‘Trust’.
  • Now, change the setting to ‘Never Trust’.
  • Now, you have to reboot your Mac.
  • After turning it back on, follow the same steps to change “When
    using this certificate” back to “Use System Defaults”

9. Just follow the following steps on your Mac.

  • Open Finder and click Go and then Go to Folder and type
    /var/db/crls.
  • Now, click on Go.
  • You have to delete URL cache.db and ocspcache.db files. Enter the
    admin password, if prompted.
  • Now, reboot your Mac.
